About This Australian Payslip Calculator

This free Australian payslip calculator estimates your take-home (net) pay for a weekly, fortnightly or monthly pay period. It annualises your gross pay, applies the 2025โ€“26 ATO resident income tax rates, adds the 2% Medicare levy if selected, and shows superannuation paid by your employer on top of your wage.

This is general information only and not financial or tax advice. Your real payslip may differ due to HECS/HELP repayments, salary sacrifice, tax offsets, additional withholding or Medicare levy exemptions. Check your figures with your employer or a registered tax agent.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is PAYG tax on my payslip calculated?+
Your employer withholds Pay As You Go (PAYG) tax based on the ATO resident marginal rates. This calculator annualises your gross pay, works out the yearly tax, then spreads it across your pay periods.
What is the Medicare levy?+
The Medicare levy is 2% of taxable income for most Australian residents and helps fund the public health system. Some low-income earners pay a reduced levy or none at all.
Is superannuation taken out of my take-home pay?+
No. Super (currently 11.5%) is paid by your employer on top of your wage into your super fund โ€” it is not deducted from your take-home pay.
